Over a 3 years period, the Historical Society of Ringerike (Ringerike Slektshistorielag) collected archived medieval letters, dated 1263 - 1570, and is now presenting them in book form.

All letters in the archives concerning individuals or farms in Ringerike were included. Two highly regarded specialists, Professors, Eyvind Fjeld Halvorsen and Magnus Rindal translated the texts into modern Norwegian, for the benefit of today’s readers. The book contains both the original texts, and their translations. The book’s index lists some 1600 names of people and places in Ringerike. The book includes pictures of relevant sites, as well as maps showing the location of the old farms.
