Some pictures from a variety of travels, trips and experiences home and around
Radio 1 Reunion
...took place on August 21st 1999, after Oliver, Hege and myself had been planning and searching for old collegues for months. A great party with more than 100 of the "good old" Radio 1 faces and voices.......have a look!!
Painted Girls
...may look like they are wearing clothes, but a closer look will reveal that they are very skimpy dressed. 2 beautiful girls I had the privilige to work with at a party recently
Our New House
...is situated just 15 mins north of Oslo, at a place called Kløfta. We will be moving in there around September/October 2000.
Eugene A. Cernan
...was the commander of the Apollo 17, and so far the last man to walk on the surface of the moon. I met him through NASA in Chicago in May 1998. If you want to see more of him you may visit a site dedicated to the Apollo 17 mission
Cheeseburgers in Paradise
...is the name of this little hamburgerstand on St.Croix in the U.S.Virgin Islands. It surely lives up to it's name!
Lobster
...is another and quite more sophisicated meal to enjoy while on St.Croix, and as you may tell from this picture, you get plentiful.
Fangene på Fortet
...is the Norwegian name of a television-show, where different personalities take part, and have to go through quite some spectacular tasks. On my team was also the famous Norwegian painter, Vebjørn Sand, The Norwegian Miss Universe finalist of 1995, Line Sandvik and also Torbjørn Hundere and Jahne Kristoffersen. We raised about 4000 dollars for World Wide Fund for Nature.
At the North Pole
...on April 29th, 1993. I came there with a group of 8 others to do the first ever live radiobroadcast from the Pole. We made history in the sence of being the first ones to ever do a radioshow from there, as well as bringing the first and second Norwegian woman to the Pole. You can read the full story here, providing you understand Norwegian.
Four Corners
...is the name of the only place in the US, where you can be in 4 states at the same time. In the exact cross on the picture, the states of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado meet. I'd say there are quite a number of pictures like this one, with differnt people in them...
St. John
...is the smallest and the less developed islands of the U.S.Virgin Islands. It is also the most beautiful and least crowded of the islands. You still find quite a few beaches like these, where you can be all by yourself...
Sailing
...a trimaran is an exelent way of seeing more of the islands. You get to beaches and bays where there are no easy entry from land. You can relax on the boat, in the water, on the beach and just let it soak in. Highly recommended!
The Zulu King
...invited me to drink with him while filming a travelshow in Zulu country outside Durban in South Africa. The beer was some yeast drink which didn't really taste too good, but being polite as his guest, I drank every drop I was given.
US Highways
...are not always as pretty as this, but in the area around 4 corners, you may find several stretches like these.
Grand Cayman
...lies in the Caribbean, and is probably most known for it's many banks. It was also where they shot good parts of the movie "The Firm", starring Tom Cruise. Another thing they are quite famous for is their turtle farm, where you get get as close as you want to turtles of all sizes.
Raffles Bar
...at the famous Raffles Hotel in Singapore is where the "Singapore Sling" was first served. As it say's in the bar; "You can have a Singapore Sling anywhere in the world, but the original, only at Raffles Bar!"
Newton Circus
...is another place really worth a visit, while in Singapore. This is where the locals go to eat their local food. A huge food court, where you picout whatever you feel like, whether it's a snake, turtle, a durian or any other local dish. Bets time for a visit, is after dusk.
Jack Daniel
...is the man behind the famous Jack Daniel's Whisky. Every single bottle of Jack's that you find in this world, comes from this distillery, located in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
